SAMSKARA is the labor of love of two sisters with a passion for creating beautiful things which bring joy. The Sanskrit word, SAMSKARA (pronounced suhm•skaa•ruh), has many meanings…one of which is a “mental impression or recollection.” At SAMSKARA, we realize scent has a powerful connection to memory, and certain scents can bring back the “mental impressions” or “recollections” we associate with them. We have been working hard creating products which are inspired by happy memories and special moments from our lives—with scents so beautiful that you can easily form a connection to them as well if you don’t have one already. SAMSKARA’s launch will include exceptional quality soaps, perfumes, colognes, and candles—all hand-crafted with care. Additional products will be added as time goes on! We are so excited about this wonderful adventure we’re about to embark on, and we hope you will join us along the way!

The waves roll in, covering the rocky beach with salty foam. The last colors of the almost fully set sun reflect off the foam, turning it into a glorious pink. This is Kennebunc Dusk, a handmade soap that summons the memories of this day. Made with glycerin, buttermilk, and layered with Himalayan Pink Salt, this soap gently exfoliates as it cleans your skin. The addition of Lotus Flower extract ensures that your skin will not be left dry. The Himalayan Salt is particularly reminiscent of the rocky beaches of Kennebunkport, Maine.  Remember the sunsets; remember Kennebunc Dusk.

A solid perfume or cologne is simply a perfume or cologne with a balm-like consistency instead of a liquid. SAMSKARA's solid perfumes and colognes are wonderful for several reasons.

At SAMSKARA, we store our solid perfumes and colognes in small tins which are perfect for travel. No more leaks and no more having to leave your favorite scents at home! The containers we use can also be carried throughout the day to have on hand for quick pick-me-ups.

Our solid perfumes and colognes are free of alcohol which is used in most liquid perfumes and colognes to help their spray evaporate. Since our solid perfumes and colognes don't need help drying, the inclusion of this irritant isn't necessary.

SAMSKARA's solid perfumes and colognes are also the considerate choice when it comes to freshening up in a public space. Unlike liquid fragrances which can go in other directions besides your skin, our solid perfumes and colognes only ends up directly where you put them. The added benefit to this is less product waste!
